The title of this post, “Not Just Another Real Estate Investing Article,” might seem a little confusing, but please bear with me. I want you to understand that you have arrived at a unique place on the Internet when it comes to information about income property and real estate investing.

On the internet, you can find a real estate investing article on just about any topic under the sun, from wholesaling to rehabbing, from short sales to tax liens, and everything in between. Most will tell you how to make money with whatever real estate investment vehicle is being discussed. Occasionally, one might suggest that you could, at the same time, give something back to the community you’re investing in. Few will tell you exactly how to do that.

This site will, which is why this is not just another real estate investing article.

Socially Responsible Real Estate Investing is something I’m passionate about. I used to drive through urban neighborhoods and wonder what it would take to revitalize them. After all, they used to be beautiful, and families used to live there, in days gone by. It could happen again, couldn’t it?

Stick around this site long enough and you see I’ve discovered an answer. I’m not naive enough to think it’s the only one, or even the best one. But it’s a very good one, and it’s the best I’ve found so far, because I’ve discovered I’m not alone in my passion. There are others, and they are making a huge difference, and earning double digit returns on their money at the same time.

You can, too… and you can find out about it right here on this site. See why this isn’t just another real estate investing article, and not just another real estate investing website?

Some real estate investors are all about talking. They talk about the good their investments do for the neighborhoods they invest in, for the tenants, for the larger community, and so on. They say that they participate in responsible investing because they keep their properties nice, pay their bills on time, provide housing for people, and the cash flow stimulates the local economy, albeit on a small scale… yada, yada, yada.

I don’t disagree with any of it, but it sounds an awful lot like justification to my ears.

Don’t get me wrong- there’s absolutley nothing wrong with the profit motive, and individual investors do contribute a great deal to the “common good.” It’s just that most everyday investing shouldn’t be confused in anybody’s mind with true, socially responsible investing. To be involved in socially responsible, or socially conscious investing, you really need to go further than just being a good landlord, or a good businessperson.

Social responsibility is about improving the lives of those less fortunate than yourself – on purpose and by design. It’s not an accident that happens during the normal course of business. You decide to be socially responsible, you don’t fall into it.

By all means, invest your money wherever you like, at whatever rate of return helps you achieve your goals. Just don’t call it Socially Responsible Real Estate Investing when it’s not.

Ever drive through an urban area suffering from the ravages of urban blight? Boarded up windows, litter strewn streets, vacant lots and dilapitated houses? Of course you have. How does it make you feel?

If you’re like me, you feel sad. I think to myself, wouldn’t it be great if somebody with a vision, and the right financial resources, cared enough to turn this neighborhood around? Wouldn’t it be awesome if there were a man, or a company, with the vision to see housing opportunity on these downtrodden streets? Wouldn’t it be incredible to see this city turned around because the right people cared enough to make it happen.

It is great, because it is reality.

Right now, in cities all across this country, people are joining together with a financially rock-solid national company – and a visionary leader – to create housing opportunities for working families, and double digit ROI for the investors. They are slowly but surely changing the face of America’s urban communities… block by block and street by street. And you can play a role.

City Capital Corporation, and it’s CEO Ephren Taylor, would like to join together with everyday investors like you and me to create opportunity where previously there was none. Using your cash, available retirement funds, or your good credit, City Capital and it’s investor-partners are effecting positive change and making a way for working families to become homeowners rather than tenants.

Cities are asking City Capital for help, and they are limited only by the number of investors who are sharing in their vision. You can become involved, and the first step you should take is to find out more at Socially Conscious Real Estate Investing.
